I've made a list of the grad schools I'm thinking about. I need to eliminate 4. So, where do you guys think I should go?
Here's my list (in order of rankings)

Northwestern
Indiana University--Bloomington
NYU
UC Davis
UW
UC Santa Barbara
Vanderbilt University
University of Southern California
Notre Dame
University of Colorado--Boulder
Carnegie Mellon University
University of South Carolina

Find a school that has what you value that is not necessarily highly valued by the rest of the Gothic English Literature PhDs. That and go where someone will pay for school.
I would like you close to us but I could never encourage you to go to that school in Seattle (it shall remain nameless by me). However, as long as you don't start wearing their endorsed apparel I won't disown you for that choice. :)

ReplyDeleteI can't eliminate 4, but I could eliminate 2 - UC Santa Barbara and Vanderbilt.....I think Univ of So Calif is also one that I would consider on the lower end....ghetto at the back door...I don't feel safe with you there....
