I have no pictures in my computer, so I will leave it to someone else to post a great picture of John. My favorite comment on John's birthday comes from David. When I reminded him to call John for his birthday and told him that John was 34!, he said, "Yeah, but he is in the best shape of his life....DITTO...Happy Birthday to a spectacular Son!
I love John because he
ReplyDelete*calls often and is just a great conversationalist - well read and full of great ideas and always chomping at the bit to explore those ideas.
*makes me feel like he loves to be with me and Rich and would go to great efforts to do so.
*is an optimist.
*builds others and looks for the good in people.
*drinks in all the fun and joy that life has to offer.
*adores his family and loves to share their precious moments with us - thank you Skype and webcams.
*added a fabulous daughter in law and the most adorable 5 grandchildren to our family.
*is quick to say he is sorry, is anxious to learn and grow, is willing to hear counsel and advice.
*is very current on so many topics and is still the trivia king.
*has a very solid grip on what is important in life.
*he delights me as I watch him become a great father and husband.
*I recently read my journal entry from the day he was born to his children and it just filled me with all the memories of all the joy and happiness that John has brought into my life. It is almost unimaginable that those feelings which are still so "present" for me occured 34 years ago. I just love and respect John. Happy Birthday!

ReplyDelete-He always gives me great business advice. He's happy to share in my successes and struggles.
-He is a beast on the bike esp on hills and I'm sure I kept him from unleashing the full fury by being so slow.
-He is in great shape and has done an amazing job keeping in great shape.
-He got me into swimming and wasn't ashamed to have his pre-pubescent-frosh-terrible-swimmer brother on the team with him.
-He remembers and can still demo the sun salute.
-He is very funny and gets me laughing as much as anyone I know.
-He really retains useful and useless information well. I only seem to retain the latter. I'm constantly impressed by the breadth and depth of JB's knowledge on so many subjects.
-I have tried to emulate a lot of John's habits as a Dad that I've observed and many are in the DAB's family as well.
-And he's good at Nintendo and I like him a lot.
