I am looking for film reviews of the new Pride and Prejudice film from my trusted associates on the RS Bennion Blog. I am also interested in the new Harry Potter film. I will see it no matter what the reviews, but the P&P, I would like some input.
MOM
Well Anna better get on here because she has seen both (I already know that she liked both but her reviews are much better).
ReplyDeleteI have seen both and I liked both.
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter: The strongest movie yet. I thought they did a good job cutting down the story to fit into a 2 hour film. It's more intense than the other films and the kids are becoming better and better actors.
P&P: I really enjoyed it. Lizzy and Mr. Darcy are both played more emotionally vulnerable, which I thought worked. A couple of problems: sometimes the film misrepresents that time period; ie the characters will do things/wear things that would not have been done or acceptable in 18th century England--and those things are portrayed as normal. Not a huge deal depending on how much that matters to you in a Jane Austen film. Also, to go along with Peter's comment, especially at the beginning of the movie the dialogue feels a little shaky--it isn't well delivered--esp. compared to the A&E version. Those things said, it's a fun time--I'd like to see it again.
