Nathan, Katie, and Gregory-isms

Just a few cute quotes from our kids.

Nathan- Background- On the first day of school I tucked a little note into Nathan's lunch box. The next day when I didn't put a note in his lunch, he came home from school and asked me where his note was that day. From then on John or I included a note in his lunchbox every day. The other day, Nathan came home from school and said, "Could you please take a break from the love notes? It's kind of giving me a headache."

Katie- Background- We are using bribery as an attempt to help Katie stop sucking her thumb. She is struggling. Yesterday she said, "I wish this was all just a dream and could all be over."

Another Katie-ism, if you haven't heard it already. Speaking of fudge, "It is darn filthy good."

Gregory- After missing several shots in a row on his Nerf basketball hoop, Gregory said, "I need that cat." When I asked, "What cat?", he responded, "The cat from outer space." (Remember how in that movie tha cat helps the basketball go through the hoop?) Classic.

Mole Hole Mountain!

Rob and I have a new pet!!! It's the pet we always wanted, but could never have (due to campus regulations...but this pet accommodated us. She lives outside, thankfully.). This is our new pet, Mildred the Mole. She has been very busy. In fact, I was talking with the landscaping guy this morning that works at our university and takes care of all of the houses and lawns and he said he watched the mole at work this morning. I told him she is helping him out by aerating the lawns. ;) Here are some pictures of her hard work. :P (Just FYI...Rob said when he lived in California, you all had a mole going to town in the yard and had to set out a trap for it...poor animal!)

Videos

Thanks the JEB blog we have learned how to post videos. If anyone wants steps to do so let me know... the easiest way is to configure a YouTube account to synch with Blogger.

I have posted a sketch by the always funny and clean, Brian Regan... a comedian who has had Anna, Joe, Amy and I in stitches on more than one occasion. Enjoy the clip...

One More. A Classic!

"Aren't you a bit short for a Storm Trooper?"
Bennions, Clone, and Xanthoses at OMSI.

Snow... West of the Cascades

So it snowed in Portland this morning. True to reputation, the city folded. School was canceled, work was almost empty, and there were accidents everywhere. Wusses. So we had a fun time playing in the snow, and at home. The top picture below is our kids, the neighbors, and Clara (the Lab). The fourth one down is our neighbor Ellen playing with the kids.

Beaverton Update

The first shot is... can you guess who those two are? That would be William Richard Bennion and Ella Sandgren (sp?)... and yes she is a Brinton. Next is William after a recent bath. After that is the kids on Christmas morning with their sleeping bags. The boys' are fire-fighter bags, and come with a backpack. Kate's is a princess bag. Finally, the Christmas line-up, an annual tradition of the Taylor Family. We love you all!

New Version

Do we want to make the switch to the new version of the blog?

Will and Katie

Will had the best time staying with John, Wendy & Co. He still talks about John, Winny, Natan, Taytie, and Ded (Greg). In fact, his new favorite video is the first minute of our home video at Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean. We show everyone's face and as we go around the group Will shouts: John! Anna! Natan! Winny! Dapa! Ded! Mommy! After the first minute he says "John? John? John? and so we rewind and he watches it again... and again... and again... and again. John is way up there with Elmo right now with his favorite characters.

We really loved seeing you guys and look forward to our next visit.

more Burke pictures

Here are a couple more pictures of Burke--and I had to throw in this cute one of William in his new church clothes. He will give this cheesy smile whenver he sees a camera pointed at him. It's adorable. The top picture shows off one of Burke's dimples and the third picture is one of the very few pictures we have of Burke awake. This kid sleeps constantly, even now, and still doesn't care much about eating. William is slowly but ( hopefully) surely adjusting to having Burke around. He hasn't tried to push Burke away since we were in the hospital, so that is definite improvement! He actually really loves Burke, and likes to rub Burke's head and give him kisses. His jealousy now manifests itself by asking me to "hold you" all day, especially when I am holding or feeding Burke. We are having a blast with our two boys! Posted by Picasa
