Happy Birthday Hitler!

I always remember how Ice would say that he was going to make a shirt that said, "Happy Birthday Hitler" and wear it on his Birthday. Dr. Joan Wright would have loved it, along with Mr. Harem, Mr. DeJong... I also remember that Rob's Birthday also falls on the anniversary of the Columbine shooting. Nice. I don't remember that we had any clever t-shirt slogans for that one.

Some fun memories of Ice:
  • Junior HS B-Ball picture with actual crushed Ice in hand... MONEY!
  • Doubling for some great and not-so-great dates. All I have to say is Mary Schoenwald, Danni Weiss and Erin McPhee... remember that one!!!! Kevin Bromily went with us too... shoot me now. Didn't we all go with Mary?
  • You and Colin Sewell with the Strength Shoes... they would have worked if you were on the juice as well!
  • One of the best Eagle scout projects of all time. I still love to go up an see the grass and trees at the Pinnacles.
  • Going to WSU after my mission to visit Rob. We went to a B-Ball game and WSU won. I remember hearing some Pirate words that I hadn't heard in awhile being yelled at the refs anytime there was a quiet moment. We also stormed the court at the end of the game and I rubbed one of the player's head. Good times.
  • Going shopping with Rob and Ann for Mom and Dad's Anniversary (brussel sprouts and lima beans) and seeing that cute little boy that couldn't say fish... fzchh fzchh (how would you write that word Rob?)
  • I remember Rob almost biting his tounge off in little league.
  • The finger splint that became a good luck baseball homerun necklace.
  • Doubling with the spanish Elders after my mission and the Elders letting me know that my brother had a more authentic accent than me... thanks guys.
Thanks for some great memories Ice. Have a Happy Birthday!!!

Love,

Don

I like Rob because

He has great taste it books. Whenever I want something new to read I figure out what Rob has read lately. I'm still trying to catch up.

He is the most generous person I have ever met. Rob would give someone the clothes he was wearing if they needed it. (but maybe he just wants to run around naked!)

He says go cougs on his voice mail.

He tells great stories.

He's super intelligent and always interesting to talk to.

He's handsome

He's a good dresser--thanks Ann!

He has a sweet car.

He was the first one to get a real job. I always look up to ice as independent and a great example.

He's funny.

And I like him a lot.

When i first met Rob, John & I were already engaged and I was, what felt like, a million miles away from home and everything that felt familiar. Rob had told me to come by McDonald's (as all the elders met there on P-Day), so that we could meet. What an amazing experience! There was no doubt what family Rob belonged to- Bennion through and through! It was almost like (in a very platonic way) hanging out with John. Talk about refreshing for someone dreadfully homesick! Anyway, happy birthday, Rob! We love you!

Covington! What a memory!

Diet Dr. Pepper + Lowfat Popcorn = CRAZY DELICIOUS!

Rob and I shared a room my last night as a bachelor. He was just back from the DR and we had a long talk that night. Very fun memory.

Another memory: Rob's date (I don't remember her name) with the very low-cut neckline and built in rhinestone laced choker--We were horrified and curious at the same time.

X-Files in Provo during Rob's surveying summer. Remember Toombs and Squeezed?

One keen recent one is calling home and always liking to hear Rob's voice answer the phone.

Little League football and listening to the Bay Area earthquake on the way home.

Love you Rob. Congrats on an incredible year.

Love you!

John
