Today is Uncle Burke's eighty-fifth birthday. The greatest friend and brother any person could pray for. I wish each of you could have had the experience of knowing this very unique man.

So look forward to meeting Uncle Burke someday. I am glad that his name has been carried on in the 2nd and 3rd generations. It will always be a very special name. I remember when Rich and I moved back to California in the late 70's. He wanted to visit Uncle Burke's grave while we were at the beach house in Balboa. I knew the name of the cemetery, but had no grave number or map. We drove hoping to find a caretaker to help us find the grave. It had been years since I had been. However, without help, I was able to find it...so etched was that location in my mind from the many Memorial Days that we went to San Diego to visit it. Thanks for the memories and the love that you always showed for him and for your parents. It left an indelibly tender feeling in me! Happy Birthday, Uncle Burke!

Thank you, Dad! What a beautiful post. I love you and I miss that I never got to really grow up with my Uncle Burke. I remember with great sadness that day his plane exploded in the air and the frantic times that followed. I am so thankful that even though Uncle Burke is beyond the veil, he has always part of our life. Thank Dad for that. I too am so glad that his name has lived on.
