Another one bites the dust
I love sports talk radio, but I am going off it for a bit because I can’t stand the Barry Bond’s hysteria any longer. While he is being investigated for perjury charges, I am left to wonder where are the multiple other athletes who should be on a stand also. Why are we giving a free pass to Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery, and Lance Armstrong. The information against all of them is just as revealing except in the all to important photograph test. Perhaps only the egotistical jerks are being pointed out this week. Regardless, as a citizen I am much more concerned about why “sealed” grand jury testimony is being leaked. But soon enough after going to extremes we can convict one man of lying and if that fails maybe tax evasion and the whole world can rest again peacefully and I can listen to the Dan Patrick show in peace once more.

I agree that Bonds shouldn't be the only one on trial...Grandpa Dunlap agrees with you too! One sportscaster said that the past decade will be known as the decade of steroids and all super athletes will come into question as a result. I agree. We never will know with authority the extent of "cheating" by all the athletes you mentioned. However, I disagree with the attack on Lance...the accusations against him are not as damning as those against Bonds by a long, long shot. I talked about this in response to Pete's blog on this subject a while back.
I agree, however, that Bonds should not stand alone...He is just such a "big" (forgive the apt pun)target with his approach to Ruth's and Aaron's records. Baseball does not want egg on their faces (which they cannot avoid at this point) on the day that Bonds breaks those records and is booed out of the stadium. I love athletics. I am so sorry that it's lost its purity.
My advice is watch Steve (greasy hair) Nash play bball. He is so relatively small and has such determination and skills earned by discipline and hard work. It does the soul of a fan good.
Love you....MOM
I don't think Bonds will be booed out of the stadium. Barry will be cheered. Odds are that he will do it in Pac Bell, and they love him there.
Also, I agree with Rob. The more leaked testimony I read, and the more sports talk radio and investigations by the government or George Mitchell focus exclusively on Barry, the more of a farce this becomes.
I'll tell you what Ben Johnson thinks about it, "Neigh-eigh-eigh-eigh-eigh!"
Was Palmerio tried or even charged? I hadn't seen or heard anything on it. I tried to Google it and this is one of the results: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perjury
Also, what is the object here from everyone's (ESPN, MLB, US Congress, Fan) perspective?
Also, has anyone seen Bonds on Bonds? How is it?
