Cute, but a little disconcerting
Tonight John and Gregory were building guns out of Duplos (the big Legos for little kids) when William picked one up, pointed it, and started making a "shooting" sound. It was kind of a "th" sound with his tongue sticking out. It was unbelievable. Among other things, he also knows how to point the remote at the tv, and talk into the telephone. What am I teaching this baby?!

That is hilarious! Why is he so cute??? It was so great to be with you guys this weekend--the best! I didn't really get to say goodbye to you, Wendy, which is sad. I can't wait to be together for longer at Christmas. Thanks a million for letting me stay at your house! akb xoxo
it is amazing what babies pick up. so interesting. they are little sponges. it shows his intelligence and creativity.
it seems so fascinating to watch a child pick up the core values of our society. No need to worry; when I was at Barnard (an ultra feminist school); even in my psychology class "there" they discussed the gender differences of early childhood development and how little boys and little girls play diferent. Boys create "action" games and little girls create "nurturing" games. But I am sure Aunt Linda is the expert in little boy early childhood development :)
How cute! He's so grown up. I can't wait to see him at Christmas and see him and Burke interact...that will be so fun. Is he close to walking? Burke has still got a ways.

It is so hard to imagine. I can only picture an infant holding the remote or phone... it has been way to long since I've seen him. I'm definitely looking forward to renewing an acquaintance with Little Billy.

The gun thing was cute. The guns were made out of Duplo blocks and Nate Greg ahd I had been playing. When William picked one up he put his tongue between his teeth and blew to make the gun sound. I was amazed how well children can mimic phonetics. The sound Greg and I were making is the classic put-your-tongue-behind-clenched-teeth-and-blow sound that is a machine gun sound. It involves a ton of saliva. William knew exactly what to do to try and make the sound. WOW!
