The Name of the Wind

My Name is Kvothe

I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women and written songs that make the minstrels weep.

You may have heard of me.

A little while back I stumbled upon a book that was a genuine pleasure to read. It is not often that I can find a book that is good, even when I look at bestsellers and award winners, but just stumbling into a book that is good is a rare treat. The book was "The Name of the Wind," by Patrick Rothfuss. It is written from the prospective of an older Kvothe, telling his own story. The whole story is filled with foreshadowing, giving hints of things to come that, maybe, we should already know about. I loved the writing style and the whole tale of the book. It definitely ranks as one of the greatest fantasy books I have ever read. I highly recomend this book to any group old enough to read Harry Potter.

We're also always looking for a good book recommendation. Sounds like a fun read overall. We'll have to scour around here or find a way to get to book out here.

Thanks Joe!

One word of warning. It is the first book of three. It ends leaving you wanting more. I have been anticipating the next book for almost a year and a half now, but the next book comes out in April. So I still recomend it but expect being excited for another book just like it was with Harry Potter.
